Alumna of Distinction Gives Back to UIW

Colonel Laura Alvarado, USAF, NC (Ret.), BSN '78, was a prominent figure in the nursing community, and both patients and professionals benefited from her work. Alvarado was recognized by the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) with the Alumna of Distinction Award in 2004 for her many accomplishments in her career.

Couple Creates Bright Future for UIW Students

Jean and Phil Piccione are part of the education community in San Antonio. Their legacy is funding students' education and supporting faculty development. When they first came to San Antonio, UIW had 1,300 students; now there are over 10,000. Jean and Phil are very much part of that growth, and the UIW community is thankful for their support.
